ABOUT DEPARTMENT
The department of Electronics and Telecommunication of GNIET started in 2008. The department possesses experienced and qualified teaching faculty. Apart from academic activities, the department organizes various seminars and guest lectures for updating technical knowledge. The department has well equipped laboratories with modern and sophisticated equipment.The department has Bachelor degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering with a vision of imparting the cutting edge technologies of the world in Education. Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Department has state-of-the-art laboratories such as:-

All the laboratories are well-equipped with major equipments like Microwave Bench, Digital Storage Oscilloscopes and software’s like Microwind, pSpice, MATLAB, etc. The students are given more practical exposures and innovative methodologies for the design and development in the electronics field, which is the backbone for all Engineering disciplines. The department is always at the forefront of technology and to keep the knowledge updated, organized several activities like guest lectures, Seminars and workshops.
Electronics & telecommunication engineering plays a vital role in almost every field in the age of Information and technology. Electronics is the study, application and control of the scientific phenomenon concerned with flow of electrical current. Telecommunication sector involves the telephone industry, computer industry, microwave radio systems, satellite communications, earth stations using satellite dishes, cellular phones industry. Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering is a field that involves complex electronic apparatus, circuits and equipments that helps in executing speedy and efficient telecommunication systems. These engineers design, fabricate, maintain, supervise and manufacture electronic equipments used in entertainment industry, computer industry, communication and defense. Ever increasing pace of development in electronics, audio and video communications systems and the automation in industry have made an electronic engineer a channel for the change of the modern society.Electronics & Telecommunication engineering is the utilization of science and math applied to practical problems in the field of communications. Electronic communications engineers engage in research, design, development and testing of the electronic equipment used in various communications systems. Multiple career paths are available within the realm of Electronics & Telecommunications engineering. Today’s world is coming up with new technological advancements every day. These new developments are undertaken by the engineers turned scientists. Having a further look at the career prospects, there is bound to be huge demand for competent engineers in electronic industry to cope the demand in technology.
In the contest of wide spreading technologies ruling every aspect in our daily life. Engineering is the science, kill and profession of acquiring and applying scientific, economic, social, and practical knowledge, in order to design and also build structures, machines, devices, systems, materials and processes. The term “Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering” denotes a broad engineering field that covers sub fields such as analog electronics, digital electronics, embedded systems and power electronics.

Dr. Sushma V. Telrandhe
Dr. Sushma V. Telrandhe is working as an Associate Professor and Head of Department of Electronics and telecommunication Engineering at Guru Nanak Institute of Engineering and Technology, Kalameshwar Road Dahegaon, Nagpur. She did his B.E. degree in Electronics Engineering from R.T.M.N.U., Nagpur University, Nagpur, and Maharashtra. M. E. in Electronics Engineering from Government College of Engineering, Aurangabad, and a Ph.D. in Electronics Engineering from R.T.M.N.U., Nagpur University, Nagpur, Maharashtra. She has been engaged in research and teaching for over 20 years.
About 25 research papers have been published in reputed international journals including 04 Scopus journals .She participated in many STTPs, Workshops, FDPs and International Conferences. She is also working as a Dean of Research and Development Cell, published 02 patents, 01 copyright till date. Her main areas of research interest include Image processing, Digital signal processing Electronics Circuit Design and Bio-medical instrumentation.

The prime objective of the department is to impart quality education, with a healthy and conducive environment for the overall development of the students and make them globally competitive.
The strength of the department is its highly motivated and dedicated team of the faculty members and the staff who along with the students, have been able to comprehend the dynamics of the industry and improve the overall skill. The students have a wide choice of courses, as per their interest they can choose and develop their competencies in the areas of data science, IoT, machine learning, robotics, automation, 3D printing, and automotive technologies with rapid prototyping, as per the need of Industry 4.0.

Future Scope
Electronics & Telecommunications Engineering is a discipline dealing with electronic device, communication systems, or equipment. The applications of electronics are in a wide range of products, including consumer electronics; telecommunications; diagnostics and treatment devices for medicine; audio and video; control; computing; data storage and retrieval; photography; measurement and metrology equipment; aviation and avionics; manufacturing; natural resource extraction; and early warning and radar. Electronics & Telecommunications has a major role in improving productivity in such diverse industries as aviation, telecommunication, entertainment, oil, energy, and agriculture.
Electronics & Telecommunications engineering is a constantly changing and widening branch of the engineering profession having applications in every discipline of engineering. Increased production and demand by government and businesses for communication equipment, computers and military electronics along with consumer demand and increased research and development on robots and other types of automation contributes to the growth of employment opportunities in the field. Candidates having a creative and inventive mind and also are good at physics and mathematics will probably find electronics engineering a challenging and lucrative career. The rapid pace of technological innovation and development will likely drive demand for electrical and electronics engineers in research and development, an area in which engineering expertise will be needed to develop distribution system related to new technologies. Now communication having become important segment of day to day lives and with both public and private players operating in this area resulting in enhanced job opportunities.
