First Year of Engineering
Engineering is fundamentally about creatively applying scientific principles using current technologies and advancements in the real world. The Department of First Year Engineering (Department of Applied Sciences & Humanities) is a crucial foundational segment of the college, dedicated to fostering the exploration and use of scientific knowledge. This empowers students to address global challenges, preparing them to make effective, intellectual, and ethical contributions as members of a vibrant scientific community.
Overall development of the students we conduct various co-curricular & extra-curricular activities, effective planning, organizing, coordinating and teaching learning process. The department has well-furnished class rooms, laboratories and necessary infrastructural facilities Applied Sciences are the base of Engineering. The Department of First Year Engineering Department aims to help students develop strong fundamentals in all basic courses. With sound fundamentals, learning advanced and specialized courses become easier for students. Applied Physics, Applied Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, Communication Skills and ICC are the subjects taught at different stages of the four year course. The Department has a team of committed faculty members with proven skills in their respective fields and state-of-the-art Information in this entire Subject.
Applied Physics and Applied Chemistry are taught at first year level. The laboratories are well equipped to carry various analysis and conduct advanced practical in the field of Solid State Physics and Optics. Applied Mathematics, the core subject of Engineering, is taught up to pre-final year level. The subject helps students learn methods in Mathematical Modeling such as Classical, Numerical and Optimization techniques. The students are trained to incorporate mathematical models in Engineering situations and find plausible solutions for the same.
Department of First Year Engineering is also actively involved in pursuing research activities. The Department has the distinction of publishing and presenting maximum number of technical papers in peer reviewed national, international journals and conferences.
HOD's Message
Department First Year of Engineering is involved in a vital role in mentoring the students to be a potential engineer. The teaching-learning process employed by staff boosts the students thinking imaginably and enhances their critical analyzing skills. First year department aids and frames the students to enter in the rapid fast changing pragmatic world yet by maintaining the sensitivity in learners. As most of the students come from the diversified social environment it becomes a requirement for the department that they're mentored by the staff with whom they will share their thoughts, express themselves, expectations and would feel comfortable far away from home. Various frequent activities like Expert Lectures, Technical Events, Site Visits, Sports and Cultural Events, Soft Skills and Aptitude broaden student's horizon and prevent them from being monotonous with academics. In the end, Department First of Engineering prompts and assures a very amicable, healthy but a competitive ambience for our future engineers.
